This stylish ring adheres to the Japanese belief that applying pressure to a particular finger may help lose weight in a problem area. The adjustable ring targets specific needs: hip area when worn on index finger, derriere when worn on middle finger, stomach when worn on ring finger and thighs when worn on pinky. Specify color: (705-gold) or (115-silver). One size adjusts to fit most.
Wouldn't it be great if weight loss was this easy? I want to loose some weight from my stomach, so I'll throw on my ring today and poof! Extra fat gone. Man, and it's a bargain at $3.99. I mean, I would be crazy not to buy it, right?
This is what is wrong with the world today (not this particular item, per se). The idea what something so simple, so inexpensive, so attractive can solve the problem. Weight gain didn't happen because I didn't wear the ring. It didn't happen because I thought I would have an extra dessert one night or have that late night snack. There's so much more to it. There's attitude, there's history, there's emotions. None of which is resolved by using this ring. It's a process. It's a learning curve. It's relearning basic behaviors. This ring doesn't do anything except maybe look nice on your finger...and that's only if you're lucky. Because I suspect the people who "need" it the most will find that that one size adjusts to fit most won't apply to them. It will be too small and that my friends will set off another cycle of eating.
I wish the world would realize that it takes more than gimmicks to loose the weight. Or maybe I wish wearing a pretty little gold ring like the one pictured above would allow me to loose the weight I want to loose, effortlessly.
I actually like the design on the ring. Helps me lose weight? Bonus! But sadly, you are totally right.
ReplyDeleteOh yea, I like the design too actually. I just hate that people will believe the claim of weight loss.
