Philadelphia Half Marathon
Alright, so apparently this is race update week! LOL! For the past two years, my lovely hubby has run the Philadelphia Half Marathon. Two years ago, this event was his very first half marathon. After running the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach last month, he decided to up his game and run the Philadelphia Marathon this year.
With that, I decided to have him sign me up for the half. Why not? I've now run one half marathon, there's no reason why I can't run another one, right? So, he signed me up for the Philadelphia Half Marathon. I'm somewhat looking forward to it (as much as one can look forward to running a half marathon!). And what's nice is we'll make a weekend of it, so a nice little trip before the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
Now to find something to do in August or September...

Awesome! I did this in 2008. With no training at all. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
ReplyDeleteThere is the Philadelphia Rock n Roll half in September. I did that one last year and found the weather to be quite favorable.
August is a tough month to find a good long race to do- you may want to check NYRR if you guys are willing to travel to NY.
woohoo!!! you rock!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!!! I think you'll have a blast. :)
ReplyDelete@Valiant - Thanks! I am seeing that August is a tough month for a race and honestly, it would have to be the first weekend in August as we're going to Montreal for a few days after wards. I've found a duathlon in early July and a cycle ride towards the end of July. It may just have to be one of those two events.
ReplyDelete@Christina - Thanks! I'm hoping to run through Old City (all the historic stuff) during the half. How fun would it be to run past Constitution Hall and the Liberty Bell?
@Heather - Thanks! I'm hoping so. Though I will admit, fewer photos. ;-)
yeahhh finding all kinds of folks today who have signed up for Philly!! We are going to do a great big bloggie meet up if you are interested when it gets here!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda! Sounds great! Keep me posted as we'll be coming in on Saturday for packet pick-up.
