Hubby and I joined the local YMCA and I have done a pretty good job of getting my butt there! The first week, I managed to get there Tuesday through Thursday where I did my two 30 minute runs on the treadmill, used the bike and took an abs class. This past week I made it Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I had Monday off, but I still got there and used the bike and elliptical. Tuesday, I hit the treadmill for a 30 minute run and the bike for 30 minutes. Skipped Wednesday for no good reason... Then Thursday did 25 minutes on the bike and took a kickboxing class. AWESOME class! Looking forward to doing that one again! Today, I have to do a 6 mile run on the indoor track because Mother Nature decided 5" of snow was a good idea yesterday...
I'm working harder at planning meals ahead of time so we aren't always running for sandwiches. Sometimes the meals are planned and we change what's on the schedule, but overall we are getting better at not going weekday to the store for something. That's a plus. Saves a bit of money and gives us more control over what we're eating.
2011 was a pretty good year for me health wise. I'm hoping 2012 continues the trend!

...wait a sec... 5 pounds in ONE WEEK? That means you consumed an extra 17,500 calories on top of whatever your typical needs are. This means an average of an extra 2500 calories every day for all seven days. More if you exercised during that week at all... Am I a devil's advocate or the bearer of good tidings when I say I don't think that's possible? I just ate a "normal" breakfast (eggs, potatoes, carbs, fats)and I'm up 3 pounds from what I weighed yesterday morning. But there's NO WAY I gained 3 pounds!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look BEAUTIFUL! Stunning!! I am so glad you had a great year! I look forward sharing in your successes in 2012!!
ReplyDeleteI tagged you in a post on my blog... if you like that kind of thing!!!
Valiant, for the two weeks I'm talking about, it would not be over estimating. LOL! I are like crap and didn't exercise in the least. The second week we were on vacation in Jamaica and the drink calories ALONE could have made the total within reach. It's ok. I have a history of gaining really badly when I "fall off the wagon," but I'm pretty good at getting back on and losing it quickly. I think I gained 7 pounds in a week once when I was attending WW meetings. Sure surprised the girl who weighed me in. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill! It's sometimes hard to see the success, but when I saw those two photos...No denying it even if I don't always see it. Saw the tag. I'll have to think on that one! :-)
