Frustrating

Who would have thought finding something like above so hard?  I have a job interview this afternoon and realized all the suits in my closet are too big.  The last time I needed one I was 20 pounds heavier.  I have one dress that I can wear as an interview outfit, but it has really short sleeves.  Too cold for sleeves that short right now.

So, I went to the store to find either a jacket to wear with the dress I already own or to find a reasonably priced suit.  And....nothing.  I went to eleven, yes eleven store over the last two days to find something and nothing.  No suit jacket or sweater to go over the dress I already own and no replacement suit to wear instead of what I already have.

Can you say frustrating?  I mean really.  I know it's Christmas, but people do still have to work.  Lives do continue even though there is a huge demand for red sparkly dresses.  I am making due with something I have in my closet, which I pray fits ok.  Even though the person I am interviewing with has worked with me since May, I still want to make a good impression.

Wish me luck!  I'm not feeling the most confident in my appearance today, so hopefully I can wow them with my skills and knowledge.

Employment Update

There hasn't been much to say lately on this front. I quit the temp job before vacation for numerous reasons (all of which I stand heartily behind) and haven't done much since we've returned because, well, there isn't much out there. This week I applied for a Marketing Coordinator position at a local engineering company. The next day I set up a phone interview for today. So, very quick turn around.

The phone interview went ok. It's been awhile since I've actually had an interview. Nothing in the last year, so it felt strange answering all those questions. I used too many fillers, sadly. Hopefully that's not a deal breaker. I also don't know if I answered the "why should I bring you in for an interview or hire you for this position?" Ugh. The WORST question because in my opinion, I sent my resume, it speaks for itself. I wouldn't have sent it if I didn't think I was the best candidate for the job.

After the interview, I sent 4 writing samples as requested. Hopefully they make an impression. I haven't heard if she received them. I would like to think that she would acknowledge receipt, but you never know these days.

And now I wait. I was told they would start in-person interviews next week or the following. Which is fine. I don't have a lot planned. I'm free. So, we shall see what happens. Maybe I'll have an in-person interview. Maybe not. I just hope she has the courtesy to tell me either way.
