Interview

Today was the big day.  Interview day.  About a week and a half ago my old supervisor sent me an email saying she knew of a part-time opening nearby and wanted to know if I might be interested.  After receiving the job description, I decided to send my resume in.  Figured it couldn't hurt.

Last Thursday, I received a phone call from the organization. They were in receipt of my resume and wanted to know if I were still interested in the position.  I said yes and we set up an interview for today at 11:00 a.m.

To prepare, I had to get a new suit.  I had lost weight last year and my old suits did not fit.  Not only did they not fit, but I had taken them to the consignment shop to sell, so I didn't have anything to wear.  So, I found a suit at Sears that I liked so I could look presentable today.

This morning I got myself ready to be professional.  It's been a long time since I had gotten all dressed up for work.  LOL!  It took a tad bit longer than I thought and I kinda freaked when I realized I left 15 minutes later than I wanted.  Thankfully, the building was easy to get to and closer to home than I thought.

The interview went well.  The Director and I had a few things in common.  She knew exactly where my first job in Jersey was as she lived in the next town over for a while.  We bonded over McMillian's bakery and led to want pasty during the interview.  Oops!  We also discussed that she grew up in the same hometown as my hubby's college roommate.  What are the odds?

Other than that, the interview itself went well.  I believe I gave good answers to their questions.  I asked a bunch in return, which I sometimes have problems coming up with, but I was good today.  It was a longish interview at an hour and fifteen minutes.  That could be a good thing.

At the end, we thanked each other for all our time and that they have interviews set up through next week.  So, it sounds like the earliest I will know anything will be next week.  Because our mail doesn't come until 2:0 p.m.ish, I was able to get my hand-written thank you notes out today.  Hopefully they receive them either tomorrow (which would be super cool!) or Wednesday.

So, positive thoughts for a job offer.  This whole unemployment thing is getting old...

  2. Thanks Ladies! We shall see what happens. If hired it sure will be a hard adjustment going back to work after so long! LOL! Though I think I can adjust nicely to being paid. ;)
