I had a job interview in September for a part-time fund raising position. I hadn't heard anything at the start of October, so I sent a quick email letting them know I was still interested and I found out they had some internal issues that had kept them from making a decision as of yet.
Today, I received a phone call from the company and I got pretty excited. I returned the call, only to be told while I interview very well, I had stiff competition and did not actually get the job. While I appreciate the phone call, it totally screwed with my mind. With the way the economy is, I figured if I hadn't been selected for the position I would receive a letter...if lucky. When I had a message they called, I thought for certain I was being offered the job.
So, I'm not in a very good mood currently...
WTF - a screw off phone call? Why bother?! Sorry to hear that you didn't get the job. That stinks.
ReplyDeleteYea. Someone is actually conscientious enough to call about not getting the job and all it does is upset me more. I guess you can't win, right?
