150 years ago today...

the first shots of the American Civil War were fired at Fort Sumter, SC, beginning the bloodiest war in American history.  625,000 soldiers died in defense of their beliefs, with an additional 450,200 wounded.  This year we commemorate and remember those who fought and died so that this country would stay whole, as well as celebrate the freeing of the southern slave.

I'm listing some fantastic resources for you to read through for more information on the Civil War.  These four years were critical to this nation and all those who sacrificed their life, suffered wounds, or lost a loved one deserve to be remembered by those of us who enjoy the freedoms we do today.
