Friends

I often think about the people in my life I call friends.  I think back to some of my oldest (known the longest) friends and realize that I am very lucky.  Through Facebook I've caught up with a few grammar school and high school friends, which has been nice.  But, the people I see and talk with the most are friends I've made in college and since then. I laugh sometimes when I see my Facebook friends list because it doesn't top 100 people, but the people on that list are people I truly consider my friends.

Sunday, I got to spend time with two very special people, two of my college roommates.  I went to Elizabethtown College in Central PA and met lots of great people, many of whom I still see and talk with.  But, two of my college friends I have known for ages and love getting together with them!

Marge, Nicole and Chris

Nicole and I met through the winds of fate.  We both started Etown in January of 1995 and were randomly put together as roommates.  We didn't get any choice in the matter as to where we wanted to live or any personality traits we would prefer.  But, I guess that sometimes can be overrated because it's 2011 and we're still friends!
Nicole and I met Marge when she moved onto the hall we lived on a few years later.  We became friends and when Nicole graduated, Marge and I became roommates.  What's lovely with Marge is we live close by and can get together more often than we get to see Nicole (who lives in another state).  It's nice being able to catch up when our schedules mesh.

I have all sorts of friends, met through all sorts of ways, but there is something nice about getting together with people you've known a long time.  People you've lived with.  People you've spent untold hours hanging out doing nothing with.  Thanks for meeting up Nicole and Marge!  It's great seeing you guys!!
