November 20th
One month from today, I'll be running the Philadelphia Half Marathon. I'm a bit nervous after my lovely upper respiratory infection. Not sure how the lungs will take to it, especially since the weather has turned colder. But, I'm still going to go for it. I have a month. I have one more long run. I have several shorter "long" runs. And lots of 30 minute weekday runs between now and then. I'll complete the half marathon. It may not be in the time I had been hoping for, but I hadn't anticipated being sick for over 12 days either. Roll with the punches. After all, as the Philly Marathon is saying, it's the "best time of your life!"

I wish I could be there to cheer you on! I am so proud of you! You never quit! Thank you for inspiring to "go for it" despite the curve balls!!! YOU ROCK!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill! It's funny to me to see "you never quit" because I feel like I do quit and too often. I guess that's one of the reasons I am so stubborn about the half marathon. I don't want it to be one more thing I've quit. So, thank you! I'm going to be out there come Nov. 20th and I will cross that finish line!
ReplyDeleteYou will do great Chris! I can't wait to read all about it.
ReplyDeleteA month is plenty of time to heal and recover. If you want to, you'll do great in Philly. All you have to do is give it all you've got and no matter when you finish, you'll feel good about this accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! You'll be surprised at how quickly you catch up to where you were before you got sick. I can't wait to hear all about race day!
