Planning ahead can work

I am not a morning person.  Far from it.  I like to sleep in and cuddle under the blankets.  Especially now that it's cold out and we are using the electric blanket and the heated mattress pad (our bedroom doesn't have heat).  It's really hard to get up.

But, last night I decided to do a little pre-planning.  I figured out what I wanted to wear to the archives today and ironed it.  I made my lunch and packed it.  I even got the coffee pot ready so all I had to do this morning was turn it on.  All of this in the hopes that I would get my butt out of bed and hit the treadmill for my Tuesday 30 minute run.

The alarm clock went off this morning and I turned it off.  Ugh.  Morning.  I had time.  I laid there and promptly fell back to sleep.  But, I woke up.  With 10 minutes to seven.  Enough time if I got right out of bed to get on the treadmill at 7:00 a.m. And I did.  I got up, put on my running clothes, and got on the treadmill and ran 30 minutes.  Holy!  I am so proud of myself.  Then, I did my core work (sit-ups, push ups, and bicycle legs).  Wow.  I feel so on top of things today!

All that's left on the exercise agenda today is a 60 minute walk, which I break up into thirds at the archives.  :-)

  1. Woo Hoo! Way to go Chris! With that said.... I am a morning person and have trouble relating to people who can lay in the bed and fall back asleep or just lay there in a relaxed state. I admit it... I am envious- however I don't have to deal with what that awful feeling of getting out of bed feels like. According to my husband it is really painful!

Planning ahead ROCKS and you ROCK for doing it!
