Water
It is getting chilly here in the Mid-Atlantic. It may be fall, but some of the temperatures we've been living with have been downright winterish lately. My run on Saturday started at 9:00 a.m. and 27*. Crazy!
So, my issue is this. I like water (which is a HUGE change for me). What I'm having problems with is now that it's cold outside, I don't want to drink it. It's too cold for water. Every time I drink cold water, it makes me colder. And while I much prefer being cold to being hot, I don't like making myself colder by drinking water. For some reason I can drink cold soda or iced tea, but water? Nope. It's really hard to do.
What do you do? I've taken to drinking water from the faucet cold. It's not as cold as the water we keep in the refrigerator (which is what I drink during the summer), but it seems odd to drink cold water from the faucet. Any tips or suggestions for getting in my water? I need to be hydrated for the race and I'm just trying to find a way to do so without freezing my tail feathers off!

I never really like cold water- even in the summer! I drink my water at room temperature. Is this an option for you?
ReplyDeleteI've been drinking it straight from the cold faucet in the kitchen. It just seems weird to do so. Maybe it's not. Maybe I'm weird for thinking it's weird. :-) Maybe I should invest in some ice tea mix. LOL!
ReplyDeleteMine comes from the tap all year long. Yesterday is was in the low 40s here, and the water was FREEZING while we ran. I know it's only going to get worse as colder weather sets in. I just keep forcing the water down. I have a routine with the timing of my drinking...so that helps.
ReplyDeleteHeather, mine comes from the tap, but we fill a water pitcher and stick it in the fridge for really cold water. Works awesome in the summer, but now that it's getting cold I don't want to drink freezing cold water. So, drinking regular cold water from the faucet isn't that odd? Good to know!
