Motivational Monday

Strive for progress, not perfection.

This is me this week. The past couple of weeks I had good weeks. I started my 40 pound challenge 3 weeks ago and I lost each week. Week one didn't go exactly as I wanted, but I lost. Week two and three went really well. I improved on week one in week two and I rocked week three. Seriously. I was thrilled with how well I did in terms of meeting my goals and losing.

And then week four hit. I didn't follow through on my goals for the week. I will do a weekly update tomorrow, but I know what it will say - goals not hit; weight gained.

But, this week's quote is what I need. It's a marathon, not a sprint. This week may not be perfect, but I'm still moving forward. Progress is the key. I may not have had much progress this week, but that's ok. I can take what I did this week and learn from it. It happens. What has to happen is I have to get back to week three progress. I'm a little behind on my goal for November 11th, but progress is putting this week behind me and getting back at it.

So, what does this mean to you? Are you seeing progress even if you aren't perfect? Are you happy with the progress you're making? Tell me! Success stories inspire us all!!

  1. Great points. It is so hard when we are trying to lose weight to not beat ourselves up. That is so no productive though. If we can keep in mind that this is a long term project it is so much easier.

    1. That's what I have to do. One week of bad choices won't kill me. 12 weeks of bad choices on the other hand... Everyone can turn things around if we think of it as no one is perfect and I can still reach my goals, even if I have to pull back and punt.
