Officially Back on the Wagon

Yup, I've been saying it for weeks, but I am back on the horse or wagon, which ever metaphore you prefer. I realized I was having no luck motivating myself, so...my friend Nicole did it for me. See, I follow a blog called "Does This Blog Make Us Look Fat," where the authors make loosing weight fun. I shared the blog with Nicole some time back and I thought that was the end of it. I got an email Tuesday from Nicole telling me she won 3 months free membership to WW from the blog. Woohoo Nicole! I was so excited for her that I decided then and there to go to WW Tuesday night and get back on track. Yup, I didn't wait until Sat., I just went. And I felt the way when I weigh-in on Sat., things are back on track. I gained 3 pounds in my post-Easter extravaganza, but it's done with now. I am back. And I think I'm down a little even since Tuesday. :-)

The goal for NEXT Sat (since I've weighed-in already this week, I can't go on the 2nd), is to loose what I gained and then 1-2 pounds more. I think the bulk of that 3 pounds was water, hence the loss already since Tuesday. I am pumped for this! I finish classes tomorrow - I'm mailing in my two papers - and can commit again to exercise. My goal now is my Sat. run, plus 2 more runs the rest of the week. So, three runs a week with some Wii or other activity thrown in. I do have a badminton challenge out to my hubby for when the weather gets nice. So, that will be good as we usually play for about an hour. Ahhh...how much time I get back now that classes are out for summer!

  1. *hangs head in shame* No. Brian was going to run a 5 miler, so I was going to cheer him on. Then we realized there was a snack on the glue board in our bedroom ceiling and all other activities outside the house stopped. I may go this afternoon with Brian, after the snake guys remove the snake or tomorrow.

  2. you and your snakes. how does that happen? do you check your bed every night before you crawl in? that would creep me out a little.

  3. LOL! Well, I was exhausted after this week of being up so long each night. I took a nap. I'm thinking of going to Shelley Park, which I can only do a mile at because of the hill. I think I need to add a little more than that, so either Wii or my bike.

We don't check the bed for snakes. LOL! They generally have kept to the ceiling, so we haven't had any issues with them on the floor. Knock on wood. :-)

  4. ok, i am so confused about the snake issue. they are INSIDE your ceiling? or they hang out on your ceiling fans? and how the hell do they get up there?

  5. We have a drop ceiling in our bedroom. They are in the drop ceiling. Basically, they have found a way into the house and are generally in the walls. Somehow they are crawling through the walls and getting into the bedroom. We have glue traps that as the snake crawls over them, they get stuck. When that happens, the wildlife people come out and take it away.

Believe it or not (because I had a REAL hard time believing it), snakes can crawl UP. So, they find an opening in the outside wall, crawl up and in. We had the wildlife people out to find the hole they are getting in. It's an on-going battle. But, our bedroom seems to be their favorite place to hide.

  6. wow. that really creeps me out but mostly because i have an irrational fear of snakes. not scared, running screaming scared, but scared they really make my skin crawl and i rather be where they are not type of scared.

  7. Brian has the first type of scared. He was bite by a copperhead as a child. So, his is understandable. So, this hasn't been easy on him.
