What to do?

With the new job looming, I had to go through my work clothes.  I haven't really touched them since mid-June, when I stopped working professionally.  I've grabbed something here or there if we went some where nice, but I haven't had to use them in 8.5 months.

Today, I went through the rack to see what fits, what doesn't, what I like and what I don't like.  It was an interesting process.  A bunch of suits don't fit.  Ugh.  I have a couple I kept, just because.  I need them and until I decide to replace them, I need something.  I'm getting rid of some shirts that I honestly don't think I will wear.  I also found shirts and blazers that just don't fit.  They are going away.

Now to decide whether to donate or consign.  I've never done consignment before and not sure how it works.  This is decision number one.  Decision number two is whether to invest in a blazer or two.  Basically the ones I could use are pretty suit specific, not just a black or brown jacket, but ones with patterns.  Should I head out to TJ Maxx/Ross/Wal-Mart and grab some neutrals to see me through?

On the plus side, I have plenty of pants.  All the pants from June 2004 all fit again, so I am set there.  And I'm excited about some of them, as I had just bought them before we moved and outgrew them within a couple months.  The pants are like a whole new wardrobe!  And the number of skirts I found is great!  Way more than I remembered.  Yea!

  1. Isn't closet shopping fun? I've found some nice things that haven't fit for a while. There are a ton more, though, that I'm waiting to get into.

I'd go with neutrals. You can mix and match more easily and I'm sure they'd go great with those "new" pants you just found!
