Still training for the Baltimore Marathon Relay. It's a rough road. I get bored easily when running. There are LOTS of hills around here. I'm not fast, so it takes me MUCH longer than most people. But, I'm still hanging in there.
Today's run was 5.5 miles. The furthest I've ever run before. It was kinda cool knowing I could do it. I even debated adding on one more half mile to make it six, but decided against it. Six miles will be saved for Saturday. I've got to have something to look forward to on my birthday. LOL!
Saturday's run will be done at the park though. I'm starting to get tired of the hills in the neighborhood I run in. I know they help in the long run (haha!), but I just want a fairly easy 6 miles on my birthday, so to the park it is. I will doing six laps come Saturday morning. More than I've ever done. It's going to take forever...
You can do it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie! I'm starting to think I can do it. I know that sounds strange, but when it comes to running, I generally feel like I can't run distances (because I never have before). But, yesterday, when I hit 5.5, I thought to myself "I just need 1.5 more miles to get to 7 [for the Baltimore Marathon Relay]. I think I can actually do that." Major step for me. I usually feel like I CAN'T just run a race without having hit the distance before in a training run. I don't think I'll hit 7 before the 16th, but I now think I can do it regardless. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou guys are going to do great! Go Team Donuts!!!
