Not as cool "8 Mile," but still a good amount of running going on. This was supposed to be run yesterday, but we had a weird snow "storm" happen and I was a little nervous about running ON snow. I've never run on snow and was a tad nervous, so I didn't go out.
Went out this morning for 7 miles. It was 27 degrees, with wind chills in the teens and boy could you feel it! I had all sorts of cold weather gear on and was still cold. Ugh.
And it was a brutal run. For whatever reason, I just wasn't in it. I kept thinking about how I wanted to stop. And this was at mile 1.5. Not good. But I kept going. I kept running. I kept ignoring my mental attitude of stop. It's cold. Your legs hurt. Running around the same neighborhood is boring. I kept at it and finished with 7 miles, exactly what I set out to do.
But, I got my 7 miles in. I did it. And now I have to start night running. I begin the new job tomorrow with a 4 week training program, which means I won't be home until after the sun has set. I have some new light colored jackets, a reflector vest, and a head lamp. It should be interesting. Tomorrow night is the first time I get all decked out in the night running gear and give it whirl. Here's hoping I don't get run over! :-)
hoping tonights run goes well!
