20 Habits Skinny People Live By

An article taken from Eat This, Not That! talks about the habits skinny people utilize to stay thin. I thought they were interesting enough to share with you. What do you think? Are they reasonable?

1. Eat an early dinner
2. Weigh yourself daily
3. Eat a boring diet
4. Reward yourself
5. Read diet and exercise tips
6. Eat breakfast
7. Take snack breaks
8. Drink water
9. Order a la carte
10. Chose whole grains
11. Eat spicy food
12. Sleep 6-8 hours a night
13. Manage stress
14. Take the stairs
15. Chew thoroughly
16. Walk after meals
17. Keep healthy food on hand
18. Learn to take a joke
19. Eat protein
20. Avoid dinner distractions

There are definitely ones I agree with (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 13, 17, 19, and 20). I especially agree with weigh yourself daily, manage stress, keep healthy food on hand, and avoid dinner distraction. But, I don't agree with all of them. For number one, they say to eat before 8:00 p.m. My concern with this is I go to the gym after work. I leave work at 5:00 p.m., get to the gym by 5:30 p.m., in the fitness center by 5:50 p.m., done working between 7:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Did I mention getting my stuff, walking to my car, and the 30 minute drive home? So, that whole 8:00 p.m. thing is out the window several nights a week for me. Eh. I think that the take the stairs is so tired that it isn't that helpful anymore. And learn to take a joke? How is that a way to help me stay slim? That one really doesn't make sense to me.
