The Next Couple Months

I've made some goals for the next 10 weeks.  Why 10 weeks?  Well, I have 10 sessions with my personal trainer that go through the end of June.  My fencing class also goes through the end of June.  So, it seems like the end of June seems to be a great time frame to aim for and see what I can do.

The main goal?  Weight.  My goal is to lose 13 pounds.  That's it.  13 pounds.  I believe it's doable by the last day of June.  How I am going to do it?

Personal trainer sessions once a week

Running

Cardio Kickboxing classes

Fencing

Biking

Racquetball

Weight Watchers

Keep me accountable people.  Those last pounds have been hard to get off.  I've been struggling for two months to stay on plan and lose and failing.  I'm sooooo close to finally hitting that goal.  It's within reach.  There will be multiple updates.  I have waited a long time for this - 36 years to be exact.  I can do it.

Funny offensive comment

I joined the Y a few weeks ago with the hubby.  One of the things I was looking forward to was the Cardio Kickboxing class they offer twice a week.  It's so popular you have to sign up ahead of time and no earlier than 48 hours.  It's kinda crazy.

So, last Thursday I attended my first class.  Started off with a ton of running, then onto boxing.  AWESOME!  Loved it.  Though the one instructor asked me several times if I was ok and one time told me how to breath.  Funny, I thought I was doing it ok for the past 36 years... But I really loved the class.  So much so that I bought a pair of boxing gloves to wear to class rather than using the ones the Y provides (they kinda smell...)

Tonight was my second class.  This time it was in a small aerobics studio rather than the gym.  No biggie, but I knew we wouldn't be running tonight.  But at one point during the class I had a short convo with the instructor.  And the gist of the matter is he said the following:

I'm going to get you in shape.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Hubby thought this was a dickish comment.  Yea, it probably is.  But, it made me laugh.  It made me laugh because the instructor is seeing the overweight woman who is taking his class for the first time.  He doesn't know I've played basketball, softball, took two years of karate, have taken tons of kick boxing classes, and oh yea, run.  He couldn't see past the fact that my face was bright red (because I am paler than Casper) and it sometimes takes me one go round to get the moves.  He thinks I'm starting from scratch.  He asks me several times a class if I'm ok.  I always smile at him and say yup.  Because I am.  I'm keeping up just fine.  I'm breathing as heavy as everyone else.  I'm sweating as much too.  I obviously don't know how to breathe, but I've kept myself alive this long so I must not be doing it completely wrong.
But the best part of the class was when I told him I am training for a half marathon.  That look of complete surprise came over his face, especially when I told him I was using his class as cross-training for that.  MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
