Alright, it's November 1. I've been blowing off eating healthy since July and exercise since October 21st. I've packed my gym bag for today. I'm hitting the YMCA after work to get a work out in. Bike and treadmill. It's been ages...

Gratitude
I am grateful for the chance to start over. I can change my life today. My past does not define my future.

10.2

What an interesting number you might be thinking.  It's not exactly even, but not that far off.  It could be anything, really.  It could be how fast I run, it could be how far I ran, it could be the number of books I read in May, it could be any number of things.  In reality, it's the number of pounds I gained from March 5 through June 3.  Sucks, huh?

I thought about it and in one sense, 3 pounds a month with a 2-week European vacation thrown in there doesn't make that sound all that bad.  But, that also means that if I kept going at that rate, I would have regained all the weight I lost over the last year by November.  And that would SUCK.

So, I went back to WW on Friday to get back on track.  I weighed in and really wasn't too surprised at the number on the scale.  Well, I was a tad.  I thought it would be higher.  So, I suppose that's a happy surprise.  And I had a goal of loosing 4-5 of that by this Friday.  And then the weekend came.  And I know that goal isn't going to happen.  I am still anticipating a loss, but not as large a one as I initially thought.  The weekend was more brutal than I thought it would be.  But, I'm still trying and I'm going to have a loss, even if it's that .2 pounds up there.

So, I'm back on the WW wagon.  Not going gang busters, but I'm back and hopefully will get into the swing of things over the next few weeks and will see the scale move down...and down...and down...

I'm back!

Hello my friends!  I am back from vacation.  It was an amazing experience and one I doubt I will ever top and I'm ok with that.  We spent two weeks in Europe, a week in Italy (Rome, Florence, and Venice) then headed to Paris for four days and London for four days.  There are no words to describe it really.

And I was true to my word and didn't care what I ate.  I didn't think about it over all, just enjoyed the trip and the food, as Italy is well-known for good food.  :-)  I had lots of pasta and pizza and believe it or not, lots of fruits and veggies.  See, I'm a picky food eater and there were lots of meals that I wouldn't eat, so I was able to secure vegetable meals.  And oh my, were they good!  I had a delicious eggplant parmesan, lovely salads, and good plates of cooked vegetables.  In France, I tended to order entree salads (which were really good!) and in London, I had several vegetarian meals.  And all were yummy!

I also got WAY more exercise in than I thought I would.  We walked basically everywhere.  No lie.  I wish my Garmin worked in Europe (yes, I brought it).  I bet we walked a good 4-5 miles each day, if not more.  We walked up steps, we walked down steps, we walked into town, we walked out of town, we walked over bridges, we walked over canals.  It was crazy!  But, in the end, there was lots of exercise.  I even ran twice - once in Paris and once in London.  I am very proud of myself for packing running gear and actually using it!  My run in London was lovely.  I ran about 2 miles in Hyde Park and it was just a wonderful experience.  The temperature was cool and it hadn't started raining yet.  I had my shuffle and I just wandered the park running along seeing things I hadn't before - like cute little baby ducks.  So cute!

And when I came home, I weighed myself.  I wanted to see how much I had gained.  And, to my surprise, I had lost.  The day we left I had two different numbers on the scale, about 5 pounds apart.  I was keeping the higher number in my head the whole time rather than the lesser.  And if we continue using that number, I lost about 5.2 pounds on vacation without watching a darn thing I ate or drank.  I was amazing!

But, it is now June 1 and I said I was back on plan.  It has not been an easy day of it.  Breakfast was fine and lunch was fine.  It was dinner and the evening that didn't go so well.  But, you know what?  For being completely off track for two weeks, being on track 2/3 of the day is a good start.  I'm going to weigh-in on Friday, which will say I'm up and that's ok.  I'm going to do my best to eat healthy the rest of the week and get some exercise in.  It will be light exercise as I sprained my ankle badly in Paris and it still hurts a bit.  I'm not going to make it worse when I have three races I want to run this month.

So, here it is my friends, my committment to healthier eating.  Today I was 2/3 on track.  For how long it's been since I've even THOUGHT about eating healthy, that's not bad.  If I can keep that up the rest of the week, I will consider week one successful.

5.5 pounds

Yup, in the last two weeks (give or take a day), I have gained 5.5 pounds back. Ugh. I mean, that only equates to 2.25 pounds per week, if thought of logically, but still. That's a lot! I was a little afraid to get on the scale cause when I came back from Vegas the scale said 7 pounds and that was before the "all-you-can-eat-cold." So, this morning I was thinking it would say 10. Apparently, the body fighting off the cold virus for 6 days (and counting) helped. Yea cold! You were good for something. *rolleyes*

So, it's start fresh day. I'm hoping I can be down about half of that before going back to WW. That would be acceptable. It's going to take a few weeks to get it off, but I can do it. I would LOVE to loose another 10-15 before heading on our next trip, but I think 10 might be the max I can expect in the next 9 weeks. *crossed* it can happen.

So, today, I cleaned out the fridge. Nothing more fun that cleaning out the refrigerator let me tell you! It's cleaned out and ready for food. I need to write out the grocery list for the next few weeks and get some veggies. I'll head to the two small stands near the house for that, then the grocery store for the other stuff. I think we're ok overall, just need a good amount of perishables - veggies, fruits, milk, break, etc. Stuff you get when you're going to get 10 feet of snow. LOL!

I am still coughing with my cold and I think there's a post-nasal drip thing happening, so I'm holding off on the Wii. I go to the doctor on Friday about my knee. Hoping that she'll tell me to just get a good brace and I'll be good to go. I have two runs coming up, one of which I've never run that distance before. I need to get back out there if I'm going to do them!
