Thankful Thursday

Sorry I missed Thankful Thursday last week. I had one in mind for it, but it was a really busy day. So, I am going to use last week's thankfulness today!

I play around on Twitter {you can follow along with my adventures by clicking on that little button down below!} and have found some absolutely wonderful people! I am so thankful to have "met" them and appreciate the kindness they have shown a complete stranger.

I have had personal trainers give me advise on my training {for free}, nutritionists look at my diet & make suggestions {for free}, people support my thoughts on training, commiserate on a bad run/race/day, and remember when big things were happening & ask how they went. I so appreciate these lovely people taking a chance on "following" me and then interacting me. They are wonderful people and I am thankful for them.

What are you thankful today?

I won!

Last month I talked about some great Twitter chats that are great in terms of motivation and learning about health and fitness. I personally love participating in both Healthy Way Mag (Monday) and RunChat (Sunday). I've met some great people and I have recently won some great prizes!

I won a package from Body Glove Surge that includes
Accel Gel Vanilla

Accel Recover Bars Chocolate Peanut Butter
Body Glove Shot Grape
Tangy Orange Endurox
See the size of product? Yea...that's what I got! I anticipated a sampling of product, something like you would receive in a race bag, but no. I received full sized everything! I'll be enjoying the Body Glove Shots myself as hubby doesn't like grape flavored items. Other than that, we are both looking forward to trying each and every one of them!

Then, Sunday night I participated in RunChat. I try to do so every Sunday night they chat because the questions are good and the people are fun. The sponsor for this past Sunday night's chat was RunSmart. What is RunSmart?

Who Are We?

We're different (our friends can attest). Being Buffalo-based Physical Therapists, we observe how individuals move in the presence of pain and dysfunction daily. RunSmart principles are rooted on a foundation of anatomy and movement. We don't provide run of the mill exercises, either. If you want the same old stuff just throw a line into the Google Search Sea. Our online run specific workouts are different: designed to train movements, not muscles. Our analysis focuses on your movement from head to toe, not merely your foot strike. Everything we teach and preach is run specific. Whether you're a novice, professional, running for the first time or the millionith, training for the mile or ultramarathon, our services empower you to run faster, smarter, and with less injury.

Our Mission

To provide you with services that are founded on the principles of anatomy and run specific movement, allowing you to run faster, stronger, and with less injury.

I was pretty excited about the chance to win one of the prizes. And I did! I won a free six month membership! I am so freaking excited by this! My PT ended yesterday and I still feel like I need some work on my strength and core. I have already found a great stand up hip stretch. All the stretches my PT gave me for my hip made me lie down. That's kinda hard when you are at work. This first stretch I found will already help me while at work! Woohoo! There's also a core routine I need to check out because I know my core needs work. This win could not have come at a better time. My six months goes through the end of April, which means I get use of these routines through my half training. I'm hoping to run The Love Run on March 30th.

Thank you to both Body Glove and RunSmart! I am so very excited for both prizes!!

Twitter Chats

I'm not the greatest when it comes to social media. Sure I have this little ole blog, a personal Facebook page, and I always encourage you to follow me on Twitter (go ahead! I know you want to!). I decided this year to put Never Trade on the Twitterverse and it's been a lot of fun. I've met some great people and have some great support. I didn't realize how nice people can be. Well, I mean I know people can be nice, I've met my fair share of people who are nice, but the support and encouragement I've gotten on Twitter has been fantastic.

1st/3rd Sunday: 10:00 p.m. EST
2nd/4th Sunday: 8:00 p.m. EST

One of the things I've really enjoyed about Twitter are the Twitter chats. I came across both chats that I regularly participate in by accident. I was on Twitter when I saw someone post a response to RunChat on a Sunday night. It sounded fun, so I joined. And I've met some great people and had some amazing love and support from fellow chatters. I highly recommend joining us some Sunday night!

Some great people out there!

Lately, I've been struggling. It's not been pretty up in my head lately. All sorts of thoughts swirling around that have lead me to spiral into weird places I didn't necessarily want to go. How in heaven's name I lost weight last week is a mystery to me honestly. For me, this journey is a mental game. One that I lose often.

But, when I decided to really focus on my blog and my goals this year, I added a Twitter account to it (you can follow me right there...just under my signature...go ahead! All the cool kids are doing it!) thinking it would be fun to share my journey and follow others. I've shared my blog posts, participated in Twitter chats, found people to follow, and have learned all sorts of good stuff from what other's have shared.

The one thing that I didn't realize I would do is find people to chat with who have been soooo encouraging. They have given me advice, told me they had faith in me accomplishing my goals, and I may be meeting up with some of these fabulous people in the future. I am so thankful for these fantastic people! I am honored that they decided to make that first friendly move to help me, someone they didn't know.

To thank them for being so sweet and kind, go ahead and follow them on Twitter or check out their blog!

Wow. I didn't realize how many people it was until I did that. These people are amazing! Follow them! Read their blogs! I am so happy to have their support. It is amazing how their kind words have turned many of my struggles around this past week.

Who do you follow that deserves some recognition? Do you have any blogs you want everyone to know about?
