Repeat Last Post Title

Yes, you read that right. I beat my PR at Shelley Park again! Woohoo! B and I went running after work because the weather looks iffy for the morning. So, we drove up to the park and we ran. I was struggling a little in the beginning because my keys were in my pants. They have a pocket near the knee with a zipper, which I thought would be a good place for car keys. Ummm...no. So, as I'm running I remove my keys and put them in my waist band. I was impressed with that manuveur. LOL!

And off I was. I wasn't sure how I was doing as I went out. The mile on this track is 1/2 mile out, 1/2 mile back. So, I get to the half-way point and I was at 6:14. That is 10 seconds faster than Tuesday. I was stoked! But, the issue for me is the return run. Going back is hard. It's like it's almost all uphill. Really. Not making this up. I will take a photo one day and show you. Anyway, I get to the end of my full mile and low and behold, I finished at 14:09 - 16 seconds faster than Tuesday! Yea! I know this cannot continue. But for now, I am excited!

New PR

Tonight was an unusual night. I have been trying to run two days a week now that the weather is getting lighter later. I have been going Sat. after WW and Wednesday night. The problem this week is I am going out tomorrow night to an event for my alma mater. So, I can't run. With that in mind, I chose to run tonight at the park.

I will say by the time I got home, I had NO desire to go to the park. I felt kinda down and just wanted to curl up on the sofa and watch M*A*S*H*. But, I went. I went to the park and ran my 1 mile route. And I was rewarded for it! I ran the lap in 19 seconds faster tonight than last time I ran at this park. Yea!

I was really really shocked. I think what did it was I didn't want to run. LOL! My thought was, the faster I can run, the faster I'll be done. And it worked!

Sat. update

Ah Saturday morning. The time when you can sleep in...if you aren't me. Argh. Got up a tad late to head over to WW to weigh-in, but still got there on time. It was funny. Back in Jan. there was always a line that wrapped around the "store" and it took almost 10 minutes before you got to the front. I went in yesterday and practically walked right up to the counter. Amazing what a couple of months will do. LOL!

Anyway. I was down 1.6. I really wanted 2 pounds, but it didn't happen. So, down now a total of 12.4. That's not too bad. I like being over the 10 pound mark. It makes it real. I can always loose a few pounds on my own, but hitting the 10 pound mark makes me feel like I've accomplished something. So, onward and upward. I'm think two more week weeks and I should hit 15 pounds. That would be lovely. If I work my tail off this week, I'm sure I could hit that goal, but eh. Though I have set a goal of writing everything I eat down again. I am pretty good at remembering it in my head, but this week I want to write it down. See how that affects the weight-loss.

After weigh-in, went to the park to run. It was colder than it's been the last couple of weeks and I had a hard time swallowing the muscus that the running caused. So, I only got in a mile. :-( I really wanted to improve upon my 2 mile time. So, disappointed, but I did improve my 1 mile time at Couselor Park by 3 seconds. So, that's at least something. There's always next week, right? I will run at Shelley Park Wednesday. Hoping to improve on that time too. I swear that Shelley Park is all uphill. LOL!

Has it really been this long?

Wow. I swore I had been on to update the weigh-in Saturday. Guess not. My apologies to my two followers. I know you've been waiting with baited breath to know how things are going.

I weighed-in Saturday and was down .2 pounds. Yes, .2. *rolleyes* This was very disappointing. I had upped my exercise during the week and expected more like 2 pounds rather than .2 pounds. It did not sit well with me actually. It put me in a small depression over it.

After weigh-in, we headed to the park to run. The week before I got in 2 miles, but had to stop three times. The goal this week was to stop only twice. Well, I SMASHED that! I didn't stop at all and added a few feet to my run. I would had added another 1/4 mile, but B was just about done his run and I didn't want to make him wait. So, that was the good part of Sat.

The week has been off and on. Was a tad over on Sunday, but good on Monday. Yesterday with St. Patrick's Day, I ate over again, and today, doing well. I also ran tonight. I want to add a night of running during the week. The weather's getting nicer and it's light later, so I think it won't be too hard to add Wednesday night runs in. I did better than last time I ran at Shelley. Increased my time by 17 seconds! Now THAT'S something to be proud of. :-) So, no more running until Sat. Hopefully I can increase my time Sat. too.

No Class = Run

So, the weather was again really nice for March. It was strange. On my way home I decided I needed to do something outside. Especially since the daylight hours are longer with day light savings time and all. I got home, changed, and headed to our small park up the street. I decided to run. I figured I did 2 miles Saturday, I could do a mile today. And I did. Barely. LOL! I forgot just how hilly this track is. There is one hill that is about a 45 degree angle. It's not so bad on the way down, the way up, which is on the way BACK, it killer! But I did it. Hubby also said he was surprised at how fast I went up the hill. I SWORE I was barely walking up it, so it's good to hear that I was actually moving.

So, this week I'll have two runs. Amazing what not having class allows you to do!

Time to Face the Music (or Scale)

It is Saturday and we all know what that means. Weigh-in day. Fun. That Saturday morning class that kept me from going is over (except the major pain in the butt assignment) and I can get back to my normal schedule. Phew!

So, headed over to weigh-in at 9:00 a.m. They have a meeting at 9:30 a.m., but I never stay. I'm not a big group meeting kinda person. I go, weigh-in, get my stuff, and leave. I don't think they like that, but it works for me, so whatever. So, I get to WW this morning and am down 2.4 pounds. Not bad. I was hoping for 3-4 since it was 2 weeks since I was last there, but 2.4 is nothing to sneeze at. So, I got my stuff updated, got a new book, and headed off to the park to run.

Now, let me preface this with the weather today is FANTASTIC! Seriously. It was about 70 degrees at 10:30 a.m. In March. Amazing. Anyway, we get to the park, warm up and off we go. My goal was to run 1.5 miles, which is .25 miles more than my last run. Now my last run was the last Sat. in January. So, not only have I not run in 4 weeks, but I want to ADD to my running distance. Crazy. But I did it. I got to the marker on the trail I wanted to without resting. Woohoo! Then I decided after a few minutes rest that I could run some more. So, I ended up running the additional .5 miles to make it a 2 mile day. I took two more breaks, but I still ran it. I am proud of myself. I have never run that far before in my life! And to make it even better? I passed people as I ran. LOL!

So, the goals for this week? Stay on track to loose another 2 pounds by next Saturday. That would give me a total weight loss of 12.6 pounds. Well on my way and finally getting me into the next 10 pound range and a change in points. Which is going to be tough, but it will get me to my goal. And my second goal is to run the same 2 miles, but with less stops. This week I had three, but one really was the stop when I thought I was done running for the day. Wish me luck!

Wii would like to play (apparently more often)

I used the Wii tonight. It's the first time in 10 days. Yes, I know how many days because when I got on, it told me. LOL! The Wii Fit keeps track how often you use it and will be a little mean if you aren't on everyday. Though it does compliment you for coming back to back days.

The other good thing was it said I was down another 2 pounds. :-) That was exciting because according to the Wii Fit, I have lost 11 pounds since I first started using it. I started the first week in January, so it's been a full two months. That's not too bad for 2 months. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I was hoping for 14, so I suppose being shy 3 pounds isn't going to kill me.

I will use the Wii Fit on Friday night when I get home from work. (I can't tomorrow as I have class until 9:00 p.m. and won't get home until 9:30 p.m.) I weigh-in officially at WW Saturday morning and then go for my first run in over a month. That's going to be rough. Especially since I want to add on a 1/4 mile, making my total run 1.5 miles. We shall see. I have a feeling I'll be walking some of that extra 1/4!

Wow...it's been a while

Well, I swore I got on here over the weekend. Strange...

Anyway...all is going well on the diet front. I have not eaten any meat since Ash Wednesday and nary a drop of sweet junk food has passed my lips. It's all going swimmingly. :-) Though I am having a hard time with getting the points right. I was a tad over last night. Ah well. This is a work in progress, right?

Saturday night hubby and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 13th dating anniversary. Yup. We celebrate the anniversary of our first date. Now that we live in Central PA we can go to the actual location again. So, off we went to TJ Rockwell's in Elizabethtown, PA. Ahhh...Rockwell's. We were very excited for Rhino fries. What are Rhino fries you ask? They are the best french fries EVER! There is some form of cheese combo, mixed with fries and topped with Ranch dresssing that is just to die for! And they are WAY better than any other place that claims to make this type of frie. Seriously. Ask anyone who's had them. Anyway, I digress. We had a couple beers, Rhino fries, and then dinner came. I ordered a salmon Caesar salad, one of my favorites. Yea. I got about 1/3 of the way through and couldn't finish. I was STUFFED! I don't know if it's the eating healthy, the fasting from Wednesday or what, but I couldn't eat another bite. What makes this strange is that in years past, I had no problem with appetizer, main course, AND dessert. Guess eating healthy and eating the right amount of food changes a person, eh?
