I Won
Today was a better day emotionally too. I made some snarky remarks about the job situation where I live to boss, to which she agreed. We were talking about how this area is hurting and there's not much out there right now. I don't think she realized I'm talking about myself, which is fine. It makes me feel better making these little comments.
I tried the new Healthy Choice pasta meals that you cook up in the microwave today at lunch. It was high in points, 7 to be exact, but it was decent. It was rotini in meat sauce. I don't normally go for meat sauce, but it wasn't bad. I was surprised. And it was filling and warm. And warm is good when it snowed 3" overnight and you STILL had to go to work!
Came home and did 30 minutes on the Wii. I didn't do anything last night. I really was not in the mood. I seriously couldn't drag my butt off the couch. After Wii, I used the treadmill. Was trying to get in 30 minutes, but it bored the living daylights out of me! I got 20 minutes in before I stopped. Ah well, it's still 50 minutes of exercise.

Just Not a Good Day
And, my boss continues to praise me and my work. I wish she would stop. That may sound strange, but it's really hard to hear how great my work is knowing that it means nothing. A good review does nothing for me except get me a good recommendation when searching for a new job. Sadly, I have a great work ethic which means I have to do my job 100%, even knowing that it means nothing. So, I do a great job and still get laid off.
So, today was really depressing for me. I literally cried on the way home. I met my hubby at the car dealership to drop off my car for an oil change, and I just cried on the way home. This is really hurting me. I know I didn't do anything to cause this, but it still cuts me to the quick. It's a raw nerve that will be exposed for five more months. How does one handle a raw nerve that LONG?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, now onto the purpose of this blog. Sorry for the rant or whatever you call the above. Today may have been an ok day or not. I think I was within points. I had my normal breakfast and lunch, then went to the webinar. I splurged on a cookie, which was FANTASTIC! So, it was worth it. LOL! But, after I got back to my office, I got really depressed over the job situation. And it made me nausous. Seriously. I felt sick.
So, this doesn't bode well when it comes to dinner. I didn't really eat dinner tonight. I came home and really didn't want anything. Which is strange, since I usually want food when I'm depressed. So, I didn't eat anything until 9:00 p.m. At that point, I had humus and pita chips. I had 9 points left at that point, but I paid no mind to how many chips I ate. So, I'm going to guess that I'm right about points today.
And I suppose the worse part of this was the lack of excerise. It snowed overnight, so the sidewalks were not in good condition to walk at lunch. Which I expected. I knew they were expecting about an inch of snow today. So, during the day (early) I figured I would just use the treadmill at home and do the Wii like usual. But then the afternoon hit. And I just couldn't bring myself to do it. So, no walking and no Wii today. Hopefully tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow too, so not sure if the walking will be outside or on the treadmill.
And just for you...
I saw this article on MSNBC and wished it were me:
Some People May Be Hardwired to Overeat
Why can't this be me??? I'd at least have a reason for my overeating. I could blame others rather than relying on me for being the source of my overeating and weigh issues. It would be much easier that way. Darn it!
The End of Another Week
But, back to the point of the blog. Since the last time you heard from me... ;-) Friday was a wonderful day. Hubby and I went to dinner with friends. It was really nice and the food was amazing! I had a delicious Caribbean Flavored Salmon with pineapple, rice and broccoli. I split the rice and salmon in half for take home, but ate the broccoli. I had a delicious glass of Reisling wine and a side salad. I weigh in on Saturday mornings, so I needed to do my best to stay on plan. Then we went to another local place for drinks. I had a diet soda instead. :-) Go me! I wanted to do the best I could before weighing in.
So, I get up (way to early) Saturday morning to go to weigh-in. Hubby joined me so we could run after wards. I was expecting a 1 pound loss, and that was generous. My scale at home didn't budge AT ALL this week. Frustrating. So, I get on and was blown away when I was told I was down 2.4 pounds!!! I was sooo freaking excited! So, for the month, I am 1 pound away from my 7 pound goal. I can do it!
Then, we headed to the park to run. Hubby runs the loop 3 times, I run it once. I'm no where close to his level, but my loop is 1.25 miles, which is the furthest I've ever run in my life, so I'm ok with that. Last week my run was 15:53 for 1.24 miles. When all was said and done this Saturday, my 1.24 mile time was. . . . . . . . 15:51! Alright, 2 seconds isn't much, but when running, it sure is! Races are won by hundredths of a second. So, I was excited.
Had a great splurge day with home made pizza, steak fries, and rum cake. We also had beer. :-) It was good. Such a wonderful splurge day!
And now, back to the wagon. Had cereal with skim milk and coffee with milk for breakfast. Dinner was leftovers from Friday night. Then I had a WW ice cream bar, then some pita and humus. I needed something salty. Other than some salt issues, I know I'll be fine in the morning. Oh, and 30 minutes of Wii Fit. Worked out very well. Did another distance lap (12 minutes), three advanced step, and some soccer ball head bump. It was a good day.
Getting in the Swing of Things is Rough
I've actually done fairly well with food and exercise this week. I've stayed on points all week so far. And today was rough. (sense a theme?) It always is when I have class. I don't eat until afterwards, which means dinner is at 9:45 p.m. So, hubby decided to go to Sheetz (a convenience store). I ordered a turkey wrap with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. No cheese, no dressing and it was still 4 points. Ugh. Then hubby called and asked if I wanted cookies. Needed TONS of will power to resist (which I did). I did the math after dinner and ate 2 less points than I am allotted. I'm ok with that.
I've been doing well with walking and wii too. I walked Tuesday and Wednesday. I would have walked today, but I had to finish homework before class. It took less time than I thought though, so I'm disappointed that I didn't think to bring my sneakers. Oh well. I think I'm going to walk at lunch tomorrow. Wiis been going well. I did Wii Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I had class tonight, so no Wii for me. I'm going to try to do it tomorrow night after work, but we're going out to dinner with friends. Hopefully I have time between getting home and going out.
Sat. I go weigh-in. Hoping to have lost 2 pounds. I weigh myself throughout the week and didn't see any change. This morning I did, but I'm not sure if it will stick until Sat. Hope so! I am also looking to run Sat. morning. I've heard rumor of snow Sat. and I'm not into running in the snow. If the weather is good, I'll run. If it's snowy, I'll come home and Wii.
A Good Week
I also went running yesterday morning after I weighed in. It was COLD here, 6 degrees when I got to the park. Hubby decided he wasn't going to go, but I decided I would try. No harm in it since the park is on the way home from where I weigh in. I figure if it was too cold, I could always go home. So, I parked the car, warmed up a tad and headed off. The path is 1.25 miles, which is .25 miles further than I have ever run and it was the third time I did it. Yea me! I felt like I was running faster, but I didn't want to jinx myself, so I didn't look at my watch. I finished off the run and looked down, 15:53. The last time I ran it, it took me 17:34. :) So excited about that! I don't know if I can hold that or improve next Sat., but I'll try. I think all the walking and wiing has helped.
I ate horrible yesterday, but that's ok. It was my splurge day. :) And it was soo nice. I know today and the rest of the week I'll be fine on food. I did it last weekend and having done it once, I know I can do it again. I want to walk 3-4 days at work this week and do the Wii 4 nights. I think as long as I keep the exercise going and stay on points all week, I will be well on my way to 2 pounds this week.
Today, I am making chili. And not just any chili, but 1-point chili. :) Really excited about that! Well have that for dinner tonight and throughout the week. It's really nice to have around. It makes deciding what to have for dinner easiler. I am excited about this week. I KNOW I can do it. Especially since I started the week off with a 30 minute Wii session. I CAN DO IT!
Double Workout Wednesday
And then, came home and used the Wii! I did 25 mintes on the Wii. Did two sets of Advanced Step, two long runs, and a bunch of soccer and penguin balance games. Had a good time doing it too, though I was frustrated at the second Advanced Step program. I did well the first time, then did such a bad job the second. Hence, the switch to the run. LOL!
Ate well today. Been using Lean Cuisine's for lunch. They were on sale at the grocery store this week, so I grabbed them. Makes packing a lunch sooo much easier. Dinner was yummy pierogies and veggies. Haven't done that in ages! Must remember how good it is.
A boring Tuesday
I did walk at lunch. 30 minutes. I scraped my ankle last week walking and it still hurt today, so I only got 1.6 miles in at lunch. Ah well. I walked. For lunch I had a Lean Cuisine Cheese Ravoli meal. It was pretty good. I also had a 100-calorie pack of chips. They were good. Later, I had my fruit snacks. LOL! Love fruit snacks. Which is kinda funny since I didn't have them as a child. Must be regressing or something.
I was going to Wii tonight, but I didn't. My back has been hurting the last week/week and a half and with the fact that I have a herniated disc, I decided to let it rest tonight. I had left over pizza for dinner and sugar-free pudding for dessert. I was over points, I know, but not too badly.
Now just watching The Biggest Loser. I really like this show and since I don't have class on Tuesday nights, I can actually watch it. If I have to watch tv, at least it's a diet show. LOL!
First day back...
No exercise today. I was going to walk at lunch. My goal is to walk at lunch on days that I have class because I won't be home at night to play Wii. But, the Philadelphia Phillies have sent their World Series trophy on tour and first stop? 10 minutes from my office at lunch. So, I put away the walking shoes and headed over to the trophy. Priorities obviously not where they should be, but it was cool nonetheless. I even have a photo of me and the trophy
So, see, really, how could I walk, when I had the chance of a lifetime to be THIS close to the trophy? Really, there was no way walking was going to win out today. So, I saw the trophy and did no exercise.
I did eat on plan though, so that's a positive. I had a tad more than I might have though. We had a staff meeting this morning and there was food. I did good through the meeting, then afterwards I got a small bowl of vanilla yogurt with some granola in it. Which isn't horrible and tasted pretty good actually. The rest of my day was fine. Had a low-key dinner because I had a fairly large lunc - Lean Cuisine Veggie Egg Roll. 6 points for that alone. Ugh. So good though! It looks like school nights will be larger lunch, smallish dinner/snack when I get home. I need something to get me through class without resorting to the crap in the cafeteria.
Tomorrow onto more Wii adventures!
Sunday? Really?
I've done really well eating and exercising this week. Really proud of myself. I stayed within points (since I'm doing WW) each day and exercised every day. I did the Wii everyday and walked Thursday and Friday. Walked 30 minutes on Thursday, because it looked like it was going to POUR when I got to the 20 minute mark. So, I headed back for the last 10, praying I missed the rain. (It didn't rain. Of course.) Friday, got out there in the cold and walked for an hour. Did a great walk! 3.5 miles in an hour. I was impressed with myself. Started out strong, though at the end I slowed up. I was getting a bit hot and sweaty. LOL! Both nights came home and played on the Wii. Though I will say I wasn't all that into it Friday, after the hour walking. But I did it. Proud of myself.
Yesterday was my splurge day. I picked one day to splurge a week, so that the rest of the time didn't feel like prison. Before we headed out, I did use the Wii for 30 minutes. I didn't want to break my streak of 8 days in a row. :) Afterwards, we headed out to Chili's for dinner. It was yummy! Had a Miller Lite (we weren't at a place with cool beers, so I decided a MIL was fine), tortillas and salsa, a cheeseburger, and fries. I will say, I didn't eat all the burger or fries. I should have stopped at half the burger, because I was sooo freakin' full. I felt sick. I haven't eaten that much in a single meal in over a week. Amazing what you're body gets used to in such a short amount of time. I will say that much later Sat. night I did have a pint of B&J's Oatmeal Cookie Dough. Oh so good!
Today, nothing so far. I had a bag of popcorn, which I thought would have been kettle corn, but there was NO flavor in it. Ugh. I added a little spray butter and cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice. Not great, but ok. I had a fancy beer with my hubby in honor of the Eagles play-off game and a coffee with three creamers. Not too bad. I was going to make chili, but idiot that I am, forgot to get the turkey. Doh! So, we're either going to get turkey or order pizza. Which I'm ok with. I can do pizza today, just not breadsticks (which we normally order).
I have to change my WW weigh-in day to this Sat. I forgot I scheduled a class on Monday nights, so I can't do a Monday night weigh-in. I chose to switch to Sat, since my splurge night is Sat. and would be perfect. Now, this all goes to heck when I have three Sat. classes in Feb. and I have to find another day to weigh-in. LOL! But it's only 3 weeks.
Chocolate Rocks
Today wasn't too bad. Chocolate rocks because I found my stash of Hershey Kisses. LOL! I know this seems to be the complete opposite of what I should be doing, but I like them as a small treat. I usually have 1-2, which isn't too bad. But I had completely forgotten, they were in the cookie jar. I'm very excited. I took 5 to work with me and I had those throughout the afternoon. It made me happy. LOL!
At lunch I went for a walk. I was going to go for an hour, but it was cold. Seriously windy. But I had my scarf, gloves, and hood and I was going to tough it out. But as I walked out the back of the building, there were storm clouds brewing. But I started out anyway. I hit the 20 minute mark and looked back towards my building and the clouds had crossed over my building and beyond. I decided to walk back the way I got there, so that I would hit 30 minutes, hoping that I wouldn't get wet on the way. And just for the record, it never rained this afternoon. LOL!
Came home and hit the Wii Fit. Did 30 minutes of the Wii. I did the boxing today. Once you go through it, it's not so hard, but that first time around is a douzy! LOL!
Then we made dinner. Cheese and veggies on whole wheat bread heated on the George Foreman. I also had some humus and pretzel chips. Yum! Now I just need to decide on a sweet dessert. I have 8 points. :-)
Just another day
Food was an issue at work today. I did fine most of the day. Breakfast was a simple Weight Watchers egg and cheese biscuit. Good. Lunch was a whole wheat pita with roasted red pepper humus, carrots, red and green peppers, and cucumber and applesauce (which was not in the pita). It was a delicious meal! I'm a little addicted at the moment to the pita/humus/veggie combo. Go try it. But then I was hungry this afternoon. Actually, I wasn't really that hungry. I was bored. And when I get bored, I like to eat. But I did stick to the food in my lunch box. Yes, I have a lunch box. Love it - the box that is! I had a package of fruit snacks and a package of peanuts. The nuts did it. Once I had those, I was good. And I had a TON of water today. Which is good.
Came home and did 50 minutes on the Wii Fit. :) It's so much fun. Did 10 minute free-style step and 20 minute free run. I also did some balance stuff, which I had recently unlocked. That was fun. I also did 2 sets of advanced step. I'm getting better, but not great. But, I'm still doing it, and that's what counts.
We had the last of the Deep Dish Pizza Casserole for dinner. We had thought about soup and sandwiches, but decided to be lazy. So, soup and sandwiches tomorrow. Then made my yummy new dessert. One banana, honey, coconut, walnuts, light Cool Whip, and cinnamon. Delish! Feel free to steal it. My gift to you.
Chocolate Silk Pie
But, as much as I want that slice of Chocolate Silk Pie that I don't really like, I did not have it. Ok, ok, I stole a small taste of the whipped cream. It asked me to put it out of its misery. Instead, I made my own dessert. I sliced a banana, coated it in honey, sprinkled walnuts and coconuts, and topped it with Light Cool Whip. It was DELICIOUS! And I no longer want the Chocolate Silk Pie.
Rough day
But, in better and more topical news, I ate out at lunch today. I rarely do that, but a friend and I went to local restaurant. I did well. Removed the cheese and had the dressing on the side, so I was able to cut out a ton of calories. I was happy. I also drank a lot of water. Cereal for breakfast and fruit snacks for dessert. Not too bad today. Especially for going out.
Came home and put in a line turkey tenderloin. Last time we made it, it was delicious! I planned on having that for dinner tonight, but I don't think I have the energy to turn it into anything at this point. I think instead, I'm going to grab a WW meal and call it a night. I'm feeling kinda lazy.
And of course, I played with the Wii. Did a ton of the step. I'm frustrated that I can't get it RIGHT! I keep screwing up the basic step. I did much better on the advanced step, figure that one out! That basic step is KILLING me! LOL! I also did some hula and balance exercises for the first time. I think it was ski jump. That was fun, but I kept screwing up the take-off. I have NO balance! Hopefully the balance exercises will help that.
Back on the wagon...Weight Watchers that is
While on my way home from the meeting tonight, I realized that I have a goal. 7-squared. I gave it a fancy nickname. Because I'm just cool like that. What does 7-squared mean? I will loose 7 pounds a month for the next 7th months. Yes, that = 49 pounds by the end of July. A lofty goal, but I've got a wedding at the end of July...in Las Vegas...and I want to look as hot as the temps are going to be!
So, I did well on exercise today. I took my lunch hour and walked. I took my new pedometer and randomly started off. I got in 3.2 miles in my hour. I don't want to walk too fast because I do have to go back to being a professional at 1:00 p.m. (wow. What would Cinderella say to THAT?) But I was proud of myself for packing my sneakers, shuffle, and pedometer. It was nice to get out there and walk. I should have worn my gloves because my hands got cold, but other than that, it wasn't too bad.
After my meeting, I jumped on the Wii Fit. Yes, I did an hour of walking AND did the Wii Fit. I rock. LOL! I am slightly addicted to the step exercise. I want to get it perfect. LOL! So I did that for a while, then tried my luck at the advanced step. And finished off with a run. Uhhh...46 minutes later... Really, I was just having fun!
So, the goal is 7 pounds by the end of the month. Stay tuned!
Deep Dish Pizza Casserole
This time around we played with it. We went with a thin crust pizza dough from Pillsbury, diced tomatoes rather than sauce, and veggie crumbles from Morningstar rather than beef. And honestly, it was great! I added Italian seasonings, garlic powder, and basil to the crumbles/tomato mixture. It really was good. Normally, it's 7 points (for those who do WW), but I'm sure it was reduced since we went with the crumbles/tomatoes/thin crust dough. In case you want to see what it looks like, here ya go!
It makes 6 servings, so we'll have yummy left overs this week. I think tomorrow night I'm going to cook up a turkey tenderloin. They have great ones at BJ's with a lime seasoning that's devine. Tastes good on it's own, in a salad, or with rice and veggies.
I also bought veggies for sandwiches. I am addicted to humus and so, I got veggies, red pepper humus and pita. I have a delicious humus, veggie, and pita for lunch tomorrow. I cannot wait! Is that sad, or what? LOL! I also think I'm taking a walk at lunch, unless it rains, then some Wii action when I get home, after WW weigh-in. Wish me luck!
Ahhhh...Wii
Then I used the newly unlocked free run this morning. Did 10 minutes of running through Wii Land. Nice. It was nice. And it turns out you can turn the tv on while you run. It was interesting. Then off to hula hoop. :) That was fun. And then, decided to try something new. Did the step aerobics. I did HORRIBLE the first time. LOL! I got better as I went along. It made me laugh.
Wii is fun. I'm having a blast with it so far. And the best part is that since Friday, I've lost 1.8 pounds and have decreased my Wii Age. Yea! I'm pretty excited about it.
Tonight, we're having Deep Dish Pizza Casserole for dinner. The Eagles play today at 4:00 p.m., so I wanted something that's footballish, but healthy. So, Weight Watcher's Deep Dish Pizza Casserole for dinner. It's delicious!
Deep Dish Pizza Casserole
1 pound ground round
1 (15 oz) can chunky Italian-style tomato sauce
Cooking spray
1 (10 oz can refrigerator pizza pie crust dough
1.5 cups (6 oz) preshredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1. Pre-heat oven to 425.
2. Cook meat in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned, stirring until it crumbles. Drain, if necessary, and return to skillet. Add tomato sauce and cook until heated through.
While meat cooks, coat a 13X9 baking dish with cooking spray. Unroll pizza crust dough and press into bottom and halfway up sides of baking dish. Top bottom of pizza with meat mixture.
4. Bake, uncovered, at 425 for 12 minutes. Top with cheese, and bake 5 minutes more or until crust is browned and cheese melts. Cool 5 minutes before serving. Yields 6.
I tried
Once our shopping expedition was complete (with me purchasing new headphones for my shuffle so I can walk at lunch), we headed to one of our favorite restaurants - Cobblestones. Love it! We started out with a lovely crudite platter of cucumber, carrots, celery, and broccoli with Ranch dressing (not sure if it was light or not, doubting it). I also ordered a Sam Adams Light. I like Sam Adams beer and I thought I'd give it a try. It was good, in case you are wondering. Dinner was sweet potato fries with honey and half a veggie burger, both were delicious. The best sweet potato fries they've made in a long time! Then, we caved and had dessert. S'Mores rolls. Oh my. So worth it! They were just yummy! Small egg roll looking things with chocolate and marshmellow in them, with vanilla ice cream and raspberry drizzle. Drool...
Now, here's what I did right - light beer, veggies for appetizer, and a veggie burger. What I did wrong - light beer and dessert. Now, you may be wondering, how does light beer get on the right and wrong list? Well, let me tell you. I know that Miller Light has 100 calories, but I wasn't sure how many Sam Adams had. I decided to try it, thinking it would be comparable. Nope. 119 calories are in a Sam Adams Light, which is 40 calories less than their original. But that's not the point. I had 19 calories I didn't need to have, all because I went with something I wasn't sure about. Ugh. The moral of the story - stick to Miller Light when drinking beer. LOL!
Running in the cold isn't fun...really.
Found my new track outfit I got at TJ Maxx right after Christmas, but on my coat, gloves, and headband and off hubby and I went to the park. It was windy! Got out, stretched, and got started. It wasn't too bad in the beginning. The loop is about a mile and a quarter and I wasn't too bad until about half way through. But at the half way point, it starts going uphill. Which I think is just plain wrong. Seriously. Who makes the half way point of a trail uphill? Anyway...got through that and headed downhill. Yea! Had to stop to tie a shoe lace, which I justified the stop with all runners, no matter how good, have to stop to tie a shoe lace.
Now the killer part of this lovely park is the end of where I run. As you are just about done, there is a nice little wooden bridge. Very picturesque, but very steep on the way up and down. And once off the bridge, the trail goes UP. Ugh.
I was hoping to get done in less time than the last time I ran the park - Thanksgiving. I ran the same loop in 17:20. And I thought coming off the bridge, I had a pretty darn good shot at it. But, as I hit my marker to end, I was at 17:34. :( Very sad. I am happy that I went out and I'm happy that unlike last time, I didn't need to take a break at the hill. So, improvement made, even if I did loose time.
I have decided I'm going to try and run at this park on Saturday mornings. It's not far from the house and really, it's the only day I can run. I'm not a morning person, so I'm not getting up early enough to drive to the park, run, and drive back. So, I will go Saturday mornings and try to improve my time. It's a mile and a quarter. Maybe, someday, I can get my time in under 15 minutes!
Dinner at ILs = bad eating
So, back to the Wii Fit tomorrow I go. I am contemplating going for a run...well, jog. I don't run. I kinda move my legs a tad faster than walking and call it a jog/run. Now, my friend who has run a marathon, tells me I'm a runner because I ran in a race. I did the Harrisburg Mile the last two years. Her theory is, it doesn't matter how fast you go or how slow, it's if you chose to put yourself out there in a race. So, in her opinion, my 15 minute mile is running. LOL! Hubby is thinking of running in the morning, so I was thinking of joining him. Except it will be cold. Mean ass cold. So, we shall see. I ran the course on Thanksgiving and was ok. And I just got a pedometer that tells me how far in miles I went, so I'm kinda itching to try it out. :-)
Stay tuned to see if I get my butt in gear and "run" tomorrow morning!
Wii Fit = BFF
I tried the yoga. I liked all but the last one. It was Tree or something. I had a hard time balancing on one leg on the balance board. But I did ok on the rest of the yoga stuff. Then onto strength training. Did ok. Some moves I liked better than others. I will make sure I keep some of that in my daily workout though. My favorite was the aerobics. I did the Mii Run. :) That was a blast! Did that 3 times and unlocked the long distance run, which I did before stopping for the day. I also did the hula hoop. That's addicting! Fun though. I kept wanting to up my score. Lots of fun!
I worked out for 35 minutes on the Wii Fit. I really enjoyed it and want to work on it each day. I think in the morning would be best, but I'm not a morning person, so we shall see how that goes. But not too bad for the first day on Wii Fit. Will have to wait to see how I feel tomorrow though!
Today
I got a Wii Fit for Christmas, so tomorrow is Day 1 of Wii Fit. I anticipate us shortly becoming BFFs. But, we may be doing "Christmas" with the in-laws tomorrow night and I'm not cooking. So, this means tomorrow may be more focused on my exercise regime than the healthy eating, since I have no idea what's on the menu. I can make sure I eat reasonable amounts, but I can't control what I'm eating. So, tomorrow will be the kick-off to exercise.
I did start the self-improvement portion of my challenge to myself. For Christmas I got the following books
Today, I read about Freud, the alphabet, and John Smith. I really look forward to reading these three books each night. I'm sure once class starts on the 12th, I'll be reading it before bed, but I will continue to read them. I've been looking forward to these books ever since I got them on Christmas.
You may wonder why that photo is at the top of the page and will be there all the time. I took that photo just before Christmas and loved it. It wasn't meant to be anything but a photo for my Facebook page because I couldn't find one I liked better. But I took it and something happened. I thought, for the first time, I am pretty. I have lots of goals this year, but in that one photo, I look like I've met them. It makes me think that at the end of this journey I can look good and feel confident about myself...as much as I do in that photo. So, I guess you could say that photo started it all. It made me want to change to be like the girl in the photo. The one that looks pretty and self-assured. The one who is looking sexy for the camera. The one who looks like she's happy and confident. And you know, there's nothing wrong with that. That's why I love that photo so much. Because it looks like what I want to look like at the end of my journey.
This blog is just going to be about me and my attempts at bringing my life to the way I want to be living. Eating healthier, exercising more often, educating myself, and just following through on my goals. It should be a good year.
